Best & Cheapest Washing Machine?
Looking for a cheap reliable washing machine? My washing machine has packed up on me and the warranty is up, I’ve only had the blasted thing for 2 and half years so not exactly good value for money, infact I feel ripped of. I’m buying a new washing machine but this time I’ve done a little research first. Which? Magazine have just updated their list of top washing machines as of July 2005:
1. Siemens WXl 146A
2. Bosch WF0 2467
3. Miele W2203
4. Bosch WFX 2868
5. Tricity Bendix AW1260
Being a little distrusting I spent a couple of hours reading user forums and generally people seem to agree with the Which? list, with Bosch, Siemens and Miele being recommended a lot. In particular Siemens seems like a very good deal as they have a whopping 10 year warranty with their machines.
Some other tips. Don’t get a machine with a fancy LCD display, if this breaks you can’t use your machine. Also don’t bother getting a machine with a speed faster than 1200. It seems that machines that spin faster than this tend to have the washing drums collapsing a lot. 1000 to 1200 is the recommended speed.
